We Exist So No Community Has to Suffer in Silence.
Tech4Rural is a youth-led organization working with rural and oil-impacted communities across the Niger Delta. We combine technology, digital skills, storytelling and peaceful civic action so the people closest to environmental harm can document it, speak about it and demand a response.
From Digital Skills to Environmental Justice
Tech4Rural began in 2024 because young people in the Niger Delta’s rural communities were growing up surrounded by oil pollution, with no tools to document it and no platform to be heard.
We started by teaching digital skills, then learned that skills alone weren’t enough. Communities also needed evidence, organized voices and a path to accountability.
Today we work on two connected tracks. Environmental justice puts evidence and voice in community hands. Digital inclusion builds the next generation who will carry that work forward.

A just, healthy and oil spill-free Niger Delta, where communities have the power to protect their environment and shape their own future.
To strengthen the ability of rural and oil-impacted communities to document environmental harm, tell their stories, organize peacefully and advocate for environmental justice, while equipping young people with the digital skills to lead that work.
Community First. Youth as Change Agents.
We don’t enter communities with solutions already decided. The people closest to a problem should have a central role in defining the solution.
Young people aren’t only the Niger Delta’s future. They are already shaping it, and they shouldn’t have to leave their communities to make a difference.
From Listening to Accountability
We start by understanding what communities are experiencing, then provide the tools, training and technology they need.
Community members gather evidence through photos, video, GPS locations and testimony, and storytelling carries it to wider audiences.
Evidence and peaceful collective action push for restoration and policies that protect communities.
The People Living With the Problem Should Be Part of the Solution.
Communities across the Niger Delta are already documenting what’s happening around them. Help us turn their experiences into evidence, stories and action.
